Is there any news on that?

If you get your scores in before I finally have time to compile them on my day off later this week...

Can I still participate in this? I know I have what it takes to win!

What is the prize for winning the competition?

Regarding the scores of the last competition and since
Batman and Deathstroke score equally thats not true.

So my bet is that one can win without doing any predator map,
just being very good in combat.

For me its fine... :oldyella:

Well then, they'd be racking up some major penalties for not getting medals in Predator. :oldyella:

Worst Knightmare wrote:Sorry, I don't think that's fair.
It clearly prefers combat maps.

Lets say you are damn fast on the Predator maps,
40 seconds for each (see "The Gotham Knight" last compet.)
gives you 220k points.

There are two extreme combat maps on the list.
On each you can easily double this score.

And in 100 vs 1 you can get 2 million alone (as "Bunkitz" showed).

In my suggestion you don't need a value like 300k minus something to compare.

Everyone has the same handicap and it's now spread out over 8 maps. It's never been more fair.

As you say, there are combat maps that allow you to get 300000 points, but there are also combat maps where 300000 is pretty much impossible, so it balances out.

I'm happy for suggestions, but this has worked pretty well before. With the eight maps, we need something that allows us to rank people based upon an overall total, not for each map - that's why we moved away from brackets in this instance. If we find that it doesn't work as well, then I'm happy to move back to brackets for the next tournament. :alfred:

Scoring Explained (for those who didn't play Batman/Robin)

Using my round 1 scores from an old tournament as an example, combat stands as like-for-like points. I scored 110240pts on the first combat map, so I earn 110240pts here.

Predator is a little more complicated. After our first tournament, we realised that most people didn't need a five-minute cap, so we've reduced that to a two-and-a-half-minute cap.

Everyone will start at 300,000pts. Every lost second costs you 2,000pts. You're also penalised with a 100,000pt penalty for each medal missed. So that's zero points if you miss all three medals and zero points if you take longer than two-and-a-half-minutes.

In my example, I got all three medals in 1:10.72. Converting that to seconds, I would have managed it in 70.72 seconds. I don't get a penalty for missed medals, so I just multiply my time in seconds by 2000pts and subtract that from my starting point, which gives me: 300000 - (2000 x 70.72) = 158760pts.

Calculating my score:
I am making up some scores for the additional maps, but I've put the example scores from above in bold.

Combat = 110240 + 98765 + 213050 + 124655 = 546710
Predator = 158760 + 96645 + 217680 + 124600 = 597685
Total = 546710 + 597685 = 1,144,395pts

Everyone will then be ranked based upon their final score. I hope this makes sense.

Thank you Red_Robin for making a new tournament.

I think turning the Predator and Combat scores into one score in a fair manner
will be challenging.

I have a suggestion for that:

For each map you get points which equal the rank
you have in comparison to the other fellow campaigners on that map.

Summing up all points (ranks) on the 8 maps gives your score.

The guy with the lowest score (best ranks) wins.

This ensures that all Predator and all Combat maps are equally weighted,
independent of exactly times and combat scores.

Really?!? I sent it aaaages ago. Certain it was before Christmas.

Oh? Huh... Must've gotten lost :(
