How could it be copying Arkham Knight? If anything, it's Arkham Knight that's copying Arkham Origins. Jesus Christ.

Well Knight and Origins started production around the same time so it's not impossible. It's possible that there was a conversation between WB, Rocksteady and Montreal about features they wanted to appear in both games. What's the Blue Theme?

Yeah, I thought of that too. That's the most likely scenario, they shared ideas that they were going to have in both games. Either ways, I'm positive that WBGM didn't copy RS.

No idea what he's talking about there, though. It's also kind of a ridiculous thing. It's just a colour theme, should it actually be a thing. Nothing wrong with using the same colour.

I'm assuming you're referring to the story, right...? Cause in terms of gameplay, the puzzles were done very poorly.

Rocksteady handed over their code and let Montreal copy and paste, which is partially why there are so many glitches. And yes, definitely the story.

They were given access to the assets, yeah. What does that have to do with Arkham Knight? They used City's assets, not Knight's. Which wouldn't have even worked considering that it's a next-gen game.

Actually atm Knight has actually copied from Origins, or at least taken their leftovers. The whole "an army of drones" was originally going to be in Origins with Deathstroke(iirc)

I will give the game this, it was beautiful, the best looking game in all of the Arkham series (yes, that does include Knight). But I would've preferred more playable characters, like being able to play as Shiva, Electrocutioner, and Deadshot. It would've been cool to see said playable characters to have a prequel DLC to explain their actions leading up to Origins. I also would've liked to see a better multiplayer, Splash Damage does some pretty good work, and though Multiplayer was not a reason why I wanted to play the game, it could've been a lot better. I also feel like Arkham Origins Blackgate was pushed, it would've been a lot cooler to see it as a DLC for Arkham Knight. I also would've liked Initiation to be a lot, well, better. Perhaps it could've been like the Red Hood and Harley Quinn story packs that were in Arkham Knight. The nice thing about everything that is mentioned here (unlike in my original post) is that it's all applicable or in other words, if they ever did a remaster it would be possible for them to implement it. The biggest problem that I have, is it completely rules out a Knightfall storyline, which would serve as a wonderful game. I still think that side missions could be implemented in a hypothetical remaster. This game is very close to being my favorite Arkham game (that includes Knight), but it was just a little too unpolished.

Yeah, I was thinking of this just the other day. They cut out quite a bit of content originally planned for Deathstroke--this was one of them. WBGM thought of the idea that Deathstroke would be controlling a bunch of drones he'll be using for Predator Mode (as in, us vs. him in a Predator encounter) but it was either too difficult or they could not make it--I believe it was the former. We were also supposed to have a second encounter with him and Slade was going to be scouring Gotham for us. Using some drones or choppers, I believe.

If they gave us more of Slade in the story, I would have been much happier as it was disappointing that we only had one fight with him. It didn't even make sense, too. Deathstroke has beaten Batman a number of times in the comics. He's one of the world's deadliest assassins for a reason. In their original pitch--or at least an earlier one--Deathstroke beats Batman first, then we return to fight him again later. That would have been much more interesting that Slade suddenly ambushing us like that in Penguin's ship thing.

In the arkham origins artbook Eric Holmes states
Deathstroke was initially a larger part of the game. We're huge fans of the character, but got over ambitious about how to realise him. At one point he was planned to patrol the city in an attack helicopter and hunt you down using high tech drones.

I really like Origins and never got the hate.

Ok it is probably last in my order of preference but it's still better than most games,

The story is great, the boss fights were great but the thing which stands out is how empty and lifeless the City feels. Arkham City felt so vibrant and I knew it like the back of my hand due to its iconic locations. Origins bulding just felt so generic and I actually got bored gliding through the City (something which never happens in City or Knight). When I heard we got to see another part of Gotham I was so excited but apart from the Hotel and GCPD I couldn't tell you what else was in the other part. Very unremarkable

Arkham Origins, after the release of Arkham Knight, remains my favorite installment in the Arkham series. The setting is just chilling; I love the desolate feel of Gotham, mixed with the Gothic type of Christmas cheer. Gliding around Gotham against the snowy/foggy sky, hearing the bells in the background was just magical. It reminded me so much of Batman Returns, which is my favorite Batman film.

Aside from the glitches that permeated through the game, I still don't understand why Arkham Origins gets so much hate. :I It's the most fun I've had with an Arkham game. I loved the story, atmosphere, gameplay, setting, characters, etc. The 'Cold, Cold Heart' DLC was perfect, IMO.

The only thing I would have done to make Arkham Origins better is to make Wonder City playable with that being Mad Hatter's base. I do also wish that the Gotham Casino would have been playable. An encounter with Mr. Zsasz there could have been really great. It could have been similar to Pyg's side mission in Arkham Knight.

It had ideas to make it feel like a populated city like the train that didn't make it into the final game, but overall the city doesn't feel populated and I think that's one of it's biggest flaws. I would make it that there were a few late night civilian strollers and a few civilian orientated crimes in progress rather than the city being just full of thugs aimlessly standing about.

It's funny that Origins might actually be my favourite Arkham game now after all the criticism I've given it in the past but here's a few things I would change.

Remove all the Enigma "puzzles" entirely from the open world and have the data packs hidden in realistic places like the locker in GCPD or have them on desktops which you have to hack. Just a more realistic approach than touch pads and puzzles.

Remove the emergency curfew and a lot of the thugs around the open world and have a few pedestrians and cars driving slowly in the snow. Have animations of shadows at the windows and a few inaccessible interiors where you can see a bar or a home with people inside. Hear people shouting in their neighborhood.
