Ouch.

I'm glad this could get rid of the spambots though. ETA on the profile comments?

Your (old) avatar is hardly helping matters. If we ban a member it's for a reason. Don't proceed in trying to support he, of she's return else you'll end up in the same situation.

Spambots are absolutely nothing compared to real human beings who want to bring the site down. I'd welcome a hundred spam bots before a few malicious members.

There's no ETA.

Really good idea implementing the newly registered usergroup. I don't think we'll be seeing any more 'attacks' for a while now :oldyella:

Shame about the wall comments, but if it helps...

Good job, I never frequently used the profile comments (forever alone) but these ideas should keep the spammers away. :)

At what point does a member stop being a newly registered user?

Suffice to say it's a reasonable number that allows us to get a good impression of the user as well as deter attacks.

I've been away but been able to keep up with the stuff that had been going on.
Changes aren't that big a deal, but definitely necessary in my opinion.
Behind this 100% percent.
