Creepiest Moment(s) in AA?

Postby Benji » Feb 16th, 2011, 5:29 pm

What bit of Arkham Asylum made the hairs on the back of your neck stick up? The Scarecrow sequences? Crocs lair? The severed head in the medical facility?

For me it was the Interview Tapes, especially Zsasz's and Riddlers, it made you realise how truly dark the game was, hoping for more moments like these in Arkham City

Seeing Frank Boles tied up dead with a dead end sign around him sent chills down my spine. Thats when I knew I was in love with Arkham Asylum ;;)

Yeah I forgot about that bit, when I first saw him in the distance I thought it was someone who needed rescueing, but when I got closer and realised it was a dead Frank Boles it was creepy with the clown face painted on, but he was a traitor who so he deserved it

Probably going through the deserted corridors, thinking something or someone could jump out and attack you at any minute... :o 8-)

Walking through the Penitentiary after all of the crazies vanished from the big room that they were all being kept in...

There were a lot of creepy (awesome) moments in the game, in my opinion.

The bit in the medical corridors with the joker teeth popping out those boxes, then you come across another one and it's got a goon inside it, that made me jump

Lol don't say that.

Because it reminds of the part when Joker lets out the crazies. And one of them comes charging at you a few doors down from Poison Ivy's cell.

This scared me like no tomorrow 1)because i never had detective mode on. And 2)My volume was up really loud.

The stand out creepy moment would have to be Scarecrow's arrival into the game.
Where the doctors and inmates are freaking out over the toxin, and one crazies pop up and slams into the glass.

Seeing the dead bodies of Bruce's parents in the first sequence.

The subtlety of the third scarecrows sequence.
The game freaking out, Batman being taken into arkham because hes "crazy"
and popping out of the grave to see inmates that look just like Batman and one of them
is eating a dead rat.

So basically Scarecrows stuff.
The whole game has a creepy undertone but those are the moments that stood out for me.

I laughed but when I looked back from the room with the shock floor (where you see Freeze's cell) I looked back and saw so many bodies, I laughed but it was weird. I found it creepy when you were walking sometimes then you hear crazy guys then a second later out of nowhere they jumped on you.

The human head in the bottle
Finding Frank Boles Dead
First Scarecrow nightmare
Third scarecrow nightmare(I was like "holy crap, wtf is happening")
The lunatics
Finding a dead lunatic in his cell(another lunatic must have killed him)
Killer Croc, I was so scared before his encounter, you didn't know when he was going to appear, his boss battle was pretty scary too.

I got really close to my TV and turned the volume all the way up at the part when Croc smashes on the small glass window, it was so loud and I was so close I jumped back, my dad was in the garage and he heard it

I thought it was creepy how you could talk to most of the guards at the beginning but by the end of the game half of them are dead, quite sad in a way lol

The two guys dead on the bench in the hothouse atrium with no signs of what killed them weirded me out a fair bit.
