The most honest review of Arkham Asylum you will find

Postby themaddoc » Nov 23rd, 2013, 12:54 am

Behold everyone, our friends at familyfriendlygaming.com have put forward several interesting points in their review of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Namely "How does mentally absorbing all this evil and violence draw you closer to God?" Namely it doesn't.

For those interested they have also reviewed Arkham City and I look forward to what they have to say about Origins.

Hahahaha oh jumping Jesus this has to be a joke. You can't buy a 16 rated game about Batman and then complain about the violence.

I don't think it's a joke, just a group of concerned Christian moral guardians who believe they have a duty to help sort out video games. Saying that, their review of Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 had
"I do not like evolution in Pokemon White 2 Pokemon Black 2. They grow into something more powerful. In this day and age having that in there is lame. I tell my little brother they change into something else like a caterpillar into a butterfly. That is not evolving. So Nintendo needs to get with the times and progress past that."
The flaws of having your children provide the only review there become pretty clear.

You people have sinned by critiquing the glorious reviews thou knaves at Friendly Gaming haft made, forsooth. But it's not too late to reach out and touch faith; Jesus saves, and if you forget about Jesus, he won't save you. Commit any crime such as critiquing the glorious reviews thou knaves at Friendly Gaming haft made, forsooth, and Jesus will offer you salvation in exchange for you simply asking to receive forgiveness from him.

The Joker provides all kinds of comic relief. I searched my heart and have to be honest - much of it is not appropriate.

Well.. obviously, but let's not think about that for a second. Let's think about drawing closer to God.

Or let's think about this instead:

This game is in essence the darkest versions of the comics, having the player become a vigilante.

What? I thought he.. does that in everything..

I also refuse to go along with what the world tells me to say and think.

But if the world is created by your God and it's telling to think a certain way, why are you not doing that? Anyway, as we can see, he's made many legitimate points about why Arkham Asylum is a good game for a relatively mature audience. And I think nothing more needs to be said concerning that.

I wonder what the Bible would be rated, with all the wars, BAM, incest, murder and slavery in it.

I like how they basically say

"This game will do nothing but draw you away from God. The violence is unnecessary and the humor is just not suitable. This game is entirely too dark."

But then they're like

Replay/Extras: 85%
Gameplay: 75%

"Its so fucking fun though."

I'm gonna be straight, I'm Christian. But this review is absolutely pathetic. How can someone go into a Batman game expecting it to be bright and happy? Complain about the violence? The bible has plenty of violent events.
I don't see the point of reviewing this type of game for a family friendly website, it has a mature tone to it. If people are reviewing a game based on how family friendly it is then they themselves are pathetic. An opinion on a game shouldn't be given based on who it caters for.

I am ashamed to say I did laugh at some of it, and have since repented for that sin.

Wow really? I really wonder what people think of Christians... It's these types of people that give Christianity a bad image.

Either way I'm not here to shove religion down peoples throats' as I don't agree with that. I'm just very annoyed with how pathetic some people are.
In short, this review is absolute bullshit.
