This is a thread where you can ask for recommendations of certain Superheroes, or give recommendations. I've started this purely because I find there is so much choice in the comic industry for new readers and there's no better way of finding out what's good and what isn't than from the readers themselves.

Let's kick this off. Can anybody recommend me some long, fairly new(2000's) comics starring;
- Justice League of America
- Green Arrow
- Red Robin
- Nightwing
- Flash

Sorry man. I haven't really read any comics.

Can someone recommend me any Flash comics or Bat comics from 1995-present?

All of the Red Robin series is collected in four tpbs. The Grail is average, but it does get much better.
Look for the Justice League of America trades by Brad Meltzer (IIRC icollected as Tornado's Path and Lightning Saga).
Green Arrow: two trades by Kevin Smith and one by Meltzer (Quiver, blanking, blanking).
Nightwing: anything from Chuck Dixon or Pete Tomasi. IGNORE the rest.
Flash: Geoff Johns' stuff was all pretty good (what I've read) and Manapul has been doing good recently too.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check out most of them - quite a few of what you've recommended have already caught my eye.

Yes. Yes I do.
Second Coming is the best X-Men story I've ever read. However, you'll need to read the comic before that - Messiah Complex. Great story, great writing.
Uncanny X-Force; The Apocalypse Solution is about X-Force, a sub team of the X-Men that kill high priority targets. The team, the writing and the action is amazing in this. Highly recommend X-Force.
All of the Astonishing X-Men stuff is fantastic. The team's small which lets the character development shine through and the stories are great.
Anything by Matt Fraction.

I thank you, my good sir. I've had my eye on Astonishing X-Men for a while because of the Joss Whedon, but it's nice to officially hear from someone that it's good. I'll be sure to look up the other ones as well.

Morrison's JLA. It's from the late 90s, but it's a damned good read!!

JLA tower of babel is a good read. from 2000. shows how careful batman is.

and identity crisis is very entertaining. lots of mature themes and big moments in the dc universe.

As it seems you've answered yourself badnewsbutler...

Can I have some recomendations for The Flash and some recent, non-mature readers Batman? I read Batman Arkham Asylum recently... haven't gotten over it. If you're not eighteen: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.
Oh, and also, I'd like some Superman. The guy has no mega-defining tales, to my knowledge. Broaden my horizons!

For Superman try:

All-Star Superman
Red Son
Birthright
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
"Death of" Trilogy

Maybe some of Geoff Johns run; Braniac, Last Son etc

Kingdom Comes great too. Not Superman centric but he as a bug role.

If you're just looking to get familiarized with Iron Man, I'd recommend My Monsters. It's a pretty good starting point. Except I've heard that the volume following My Monsters is shit, so stay away from that.

I'm in the mood to read some takes on Riddler, Two Face and Black Mask. Long Halloween and Dark Victory were great reads for Two Face and I heard War Games was a good book for Black Mask but I was just wondering if anyone could think of any.
