The only Superman comic I have read before is For All Seasons (which I loved), but I have seen all the movies and so I'm not a total stranger to Superman. Would anyone stop me from buying these or should I go for them? :?:

I haven't read Earth One, but the rest are great (except for Action Comics, which was just okay, imo). Start with All Star, it's f***ing brilliant! Off the top of my head, i'd also add... The Man of Steel (John Byrne's limited series), For Tomorrow, Kingdom Come, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, the first two volumes of the Superman/Batman series (Public Enemies and Supergirl) and Peace on Earth (which is collected in The World's Greatest Superheroes).

Okay, i've been hearing amazing things about the modern Daredevil books for a while now, but i've pretty much only read Frank Miller's stuff and Yellow. So i'm wondering, where do I start with the new stuff?

For "dark n gritty" Daredevil: Smith, Bendis then Brubaker.

For the current series just start at 1. Trades and HCs are out.

The Bendis and Waid eras are very different in tone, but both are fantastical!

Daredevil by Mark Waid definately is awesome . Sadly I've only been able to buy the first trade . I really like this new villain that he created
Spoiler: show
his name is Ikari and he is basicly a an evil version of Daredevil.

Thanks. Those are the runs I was referring to (Smith, Bendis, Brubaker, Waid), I was wondering though if there was one of those in particular that I should start on? Or can I just pick any one of them and start from the beginning run?

Bendis.

Smith's run was pretty cool, but once you get to Bendis and Brubaker that's when it gets amazing.

Would also advise you on picking up Fraction, Aja and Brubaker's Iron Fist, very similar to Daredevil in terms of tone.

^ Thanks man, i'll start with Bendis. I'm guessing the Ultimate Collection Book 1 would be a good place to start?

I've heard Brubaker and Fraction's Iron Fist is really damn good... I'll keep that one in mind (there are so many books I wanna read).

Yup, that's a good place to start. :P

Iron Fist was such an underrated series -

Orson Randall was so cool in that book.

Just be sure to read Bendis before Brubaker. Otherwise start wherever as said.

Starting with Waid's run wouldn't hurt either (considering I'm currently doing it), doesn't tread on past events and it's some of the most fun I've ever had reading a comic.

I haven't heard particularly good things about Earth One. I recommend you replace it with Secret Origin. Other than that, they're all great! All-Star and Red Son in particular are absolutely incredible. All-Star always gets me teary-eyed, especially during chapter 10.

EDIT: I also highly recommend Kingdom Come and For The Man Who Has Everything for Supes.

Thanks, Batman404 and Jabels, for your recommendations! I shall definitely check them out. I just need to make a sort of priority list.

Do they need to be read in a specific order?

Nope.
Man of Steel, Birthright and Secret Origin are different takes on the origin story, as is Earth One but obviously thats part of Earth One continuity. Action Comics: Superman and the Men of Steel takes place in the New 52 continuity set 5 or so years in the past when Superman first appeared.
All Star and Red Son are Elseworld tales.

Nice. Thanks! I didn't know All-Star was Elseworld. Grant Morrison is one of my favourite Batman writers, so it shall be interesting to read his take on Superman as well.

Thanks for the help guys! Bendis, Brubaker, Waid and then Smith seems like a good order to go with.

Can I have some recomendations for The Flash and some recent, non-mature readers Batman? I read Batman Arkham Asylum recently... haven't gotten over it. If you're not eighteen: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.
Oh, and also, I'd like some Superman. The guy has no mega-defining tales, to my knowledge. Broaden my horizons!

Why?
