Just gonna paste what I posted on The Lounge here:

So anybody going to Free Comic Book Day? Or went there?

Luckily, the bookstore across my university campus never has a very long line. Last year, there weren't even any people there and I got the one I wanted. This time, I was there half an hour before it opened and the line was pretty short.

So I got what I wanted, Secret Wars #0, but I also wanted All-New All-Different Avengers (it's the new Avengers team after Secret Wars). Since it was one comic per person, I had to miss out on that. My brother was with me, but he wanted the Doctor Who comic. I finished Secret Wars #0 pretty quickly as it was short and useless. Luckily, my brother asked if we could have my comic switched for another, and we could, so I got Avengers instead. It was so much better!

Question regarding All New Ghost Rider - did Marvel never collect the series in either HC or TPB form? If so that would suck on so many levels.

To my knowledge only the first 5 issues have been collected in trade so far and I think the rest will so be available in trade soon.

Secret Wars #1 was amazing, like Pieter said. But...

Spoiler: show
Sue and the rest of the family... Jessica and Natasha... Rocket...

Uhh... Cyclops was cool, though? Yeah. That was great. I'm worried that we won't get an explanation for some of the changes from the time skip when Time Runs Out began. Specifically about Cyclops and his Nation-X and Phoenix Egg.

But damn...

Don't forget Spider-Feels #4.

Also, I would pay it here but I'm on my phone so that'd be hard, but they revealed some more Gwen Stacy variants and the one for Secret Wars #4 is just amazing! ♥

---

So, Secret Wars #2, huh?

Spoiler: show
God Doom. God. Freaking. DOOM. I LOVE IT.

So Battleworld isn't like Convergence's Telos, where the different cities are pitted against each other for survival. Battleworld is simply a planet that's made up of a bunch of different surviving realities. They're not battling each other. It's an entire world/culture/civilization. That, worships Doom as their God and savior--appropriately so, strange as it is to say.

I'm still worried and curious as to what happened to our 616 characters, though... The 1610 life raft clearly survived, so we've got 1610 Reed and the Cabal just fine. Wait, is Namor there? Ehh. Anyway, maybe when Sue and the kids disappeared at the end of #1, it was Doom saving them. Hence, them being alive. Though, the versions we see in Battleworld may just be alternates. I don't think so, though. I don't think Victor would settle for an alternate.

What about all the rest, though? All the others who were left behind on Earth-616. I sure hope they didn't die :( But... Natasha, Jessica, and Rocket seems to really have...

If anything, we know that Black Panther, Mr. Fantastic, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Thor, Star-Lord, and Cyclops survived. Everyone else? I hope to Doom he saved them. At least save Iron Fist, Iceman, Daredevil, most of the X-Men, Odinson, and Silk, to name a few. Doc Green and She-Hulk too, please. Black Widow and Jessica too, if possible, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

As great as it is that continuity and all of Marvel's history will still be there, it won't mean so much if most of them are dead. For me, anyway.

Also, I really hope we get a proper explanation for Cyclops and his Phoenix Egg.

So I found this post on Tumblr. It was a friendly reminder on stuff about Deadpool. These are the reasons why I love him. He may be funny and hilarious and totally badass, but these are honestly some of my favorite things about him. Sad as some of them may be.

Spoiler: show
  • Deadpool is insecure
  • Deadpool has chronic pain
  • Deadpool is submissive in bed
  • Deadpool is pansexual
  • Deadpool lifts up his mask so Hawkeye can read his lips
  • Deadpool is a blonde
  • Deadpool’s initials are WWW
  • Deadpool had an abusive father
  • Deadpool’s mother died from cancer
  • Deadpool fell in love with a teenager
  • Deadpool left her because he didn't want to hurt her
  • Deadpool had a daughter
  • Deadpool didn't believe she was his because she was too beautiful
  • Deadpool had to be dragged away from his daughter’s dead body by Cap and Wolverine
  • Deadpool carries Hello Kitty band aids
  • Deadpool is good with kids
  • Deadpool can’t be killed by Ghost Rider because he doesn't think he’s done anything wrong
  • Deadpool hates himself
  • Deadpool used to curl up in a ball and mumble about his skin hurting
  • Deadpool is married to the queen of the undead
  • Deadpool reads his own comics
  • Conclusion: Wade Winston Wilson is a beautiful man who must be protected.
  • Deadpool knows sign language
  • Deadpool took a bullet for Hawkeye because Clint can’t regenerate but he can
  • Deadpool has tried to kill himself numerous times before
  • Deadpool turned his back on DEATH ITSELF to help his fellow inmates escape The Farm
  • Deadpool spent months trying to save Cable
  • Deadpool was in turn saved by Cable numerous times
  • Seriously, freaking Jesus-messiah-complex Cable saw something in Deadpool worth saving
  • Deadpool is a beautiful, wonderfully complex character that I will fight to protect
  • Deadpool and Cable refer to the end of their friendship as “our divorce”
  • Deadpool bought diapers for Hope
  • Deadpool has a dog
  • Deadpool didn’t become like his dad
  • Deadpool is a good person
  • Deadpool spends all his money on ammo and pain meds -Deadpool is broke 75% of the time -Deadpool tells kids that he’s Spider-Man
  • Deadpool refused to look at Spider-Man’s face when he swapped costumes with him because “bros don’t out bros”
  • Deadpool did work in the Spider-Man suit, but REFUSED TO KILL while wearing the Spider-Man suit because Peter wouldn’t have killed and he didn’t want Peter’s rep to be linked to murder.

I don't think the Ghost Rider thing applies anymore, though. I'm quite sure of that.

---

I cry. Here's a brand new look at All-New All-Different Marvel: the new Marvel Universe (which is technically not a reboot at all; I would gladly explain if anybody asks me why).

Image

Iron Man is front and center. Whyyyy. Ugh. POW off. Even though you look really cool and might not be a total dick like Tony Stark. Unless you are Tony.

Anyway, as expected. All new #1s. For all these characters, maybe? More important, however, is that Spider-Gwen, Miles, Kamala, Thor, and Spidey survive <3 (though, well, yeah, we knew all that except for Gwen and Peter) But hey, Black Panther and Scott. Awesome.

Seems to me like they're trying to line it up with the MCU in a way, though... What with Scott and Iron Man. Grr.
