Gives you a really nice look at how the character evolved over the years. I was rather surprised how similar the Billy Batson of the Nineties incarnation of Captain Marvel (in the series "Power of Shazam") was to the New 52 version already.

I think its safe to say that Captain Marvel is now my second favourite Dc character. The only thing I did not like about this book was that they did not include any story with Tawky Tawny, which was rather strange considering how important that Tiger is in the Shazam mythos.

Catching up here.

The Planetary Omnibus - 11/10
I honestly can't recommend this book enough, just f'n read it. If you have an open mind, you'll like it.
Image

Green Arrow Vol. 5: The Outsiders War - 10/10

Still as thrilling as Vol 4. The Kill Machine
Image

Green Arrow Vol. 6: Broken - 9/10
Unfortunately DC rushed them off the title. Lemire and Sorrentino did a very good job wrapping it up in such short notice, but it definitely shows that it was rushed.
Image

The Flash: Rebirth - 8.5/10
Slightly muddled with too many characters, but Geoff Johns handles them all adequately enough and successfully brings back Barry from the dead with style.
Image

Batman: Heart of Hush - 9.5/10

Just a brilliantly done look into a villains psyche. Paul Dini hits a home run again.
Image

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The IDW Collection Vol. 1 - 11/10

I love me some turtles and this did not disappoint. Story is great, book is gorgeous.
Image

Nightwing Vol. 1: Blüdhaven - 8/10
It'd probably be lower if I wasn't such an NW fan. He just didn't have many good stories in the early days. Although it is cool to see his first solo series and how much he's changed. Still gonna get Vol. 2 because Nightwing. That is all the reason I need. :oldyella:

A fun, light read. Issue 3's pretty dull but overall it was enjoyable and I really liked the villain in the end.

Image
Batman: Harley Quinn, 2015 Edition

8.5/10

Almost every issue of this was a great pick and a lot of fun, with the exception of the New 52 issue, which was was awful. The Amazons one wasn't the best either. But the others were great and there are a number of standouts.

Sunstone Volume 2.

The Flash Voulme 2: Rogues Revolution

Image
9/10, My favourite graphic novel I've ever read. Buccellato and Manapul are a dream team. The Rogues are extremely complex and emotional villains. The art does suffer a little at the end but still perfectly enjoyable.

New Suicide Squad Volume 1: Pure Insanity

Image
9/10, another great book. I'd read some of the old Suicide Squad but I bought this one so I could dive right into it once Ivy, Black Hand and the other new villains come into the team. I love that they've made sure everyone knows that Harley doesn't belong to the Joker. Also, I enjoyed seeing a defeated Deadshot trying to come to terms with not being the best assassin in the world. However, seeing Waller mope around at the end didn't feel right to me. It felt out of character. I prefer tough as nails, bat-intimidating Waller.

The Dark Knight Volume 1: Knight Terrors

Image
5.5/10. David Finch's art is exceptional but it's clear that the writing revolves around it. Some of the panels make no sense at all. Batman eating Ice Cream, playboy bunny's, cameo's from characters who have no reason to be there like Deathstroke, The Flash, Poison Ivy and Wonder Woman. Batman just seems stupid, relying on everyone else and being completely clueless. They did however introduce us to the White Rabbit, who although has a terrible outfit, seems to be a genuinely mysterious and entertaining villain. The plot is really dumb and incoherent, I didn't even finish it.

Hawkeye Volume 4: Rio Bravo - 100000000/10

This may just be one of the finest comic series I've ever had the pleasure of reading, and is easily one of the most fantastic ends to a run in recent memory.

Bravo to Matt Fraction, David Aja and everyone else who made Hawkeye so special.

Batwoman Vol. 1: Hydrology
Image
First Batwoman comic, I would give it a 8.9/10.

The Flash Vol. 4: Reverse
Image
8.8/10

The Flash Vol. 5: History Lesson
Image
9.2/10

Batman: Noel

Been wanting to read this one for awhile, 9.4/10.

Batman: Deathblow: After the Fire
Image
7.3/10

Batman: The Dark Knight: Golden Dawn

I've read all of The Dark Knight issues from the New 52, just discovered recently it had a pre-52 series as well. The art is great in this book, especially the cover. The story is pretty iffy at times and I'm not too big a fan of bringing in brand new childhood friends for Bruce just for them to be important to the main plot and for Batman to remember the "good times" It works at times but not always here, with Bruce's past girlfriend of sorts, Dawn Golden(A pretty awful name :oldyella: ) I would give it a 6.7/10

Tales of the Batman: Tim Sale

Art and stories are great, 9.6/10

The Raven's Child
Image
9/10

God, I just stumbled across this gem. I was in Barnes and Noble and I saw it in the GN section, I know what you're thinking. No, it has nothing to do with Raven. It's a really interesting read. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, and I actually wanted to read more into the world.
