I was hoping someone would be able to hook me up with some
DD suggestions. I've only read Mark Waid's run. I know I should probably read Miller but I'd like something with really good art as well. There's something about DD's simple aesthetic that, when drawn well just really makes me happy. I'm not that familiar with Marvel books though so I need some help.

Brian Michael Bendis' run and Ed Brubaker's run.

There is not a lot of good lighthearted Daredevil stuff if I'm honest except Yellow which is written by Loeb and drawn by Sale and it's amazing love letter to the character.

Like Doudy said anything written by Bendis and Brubaker is a must because they all did an amazing job just read them all in order because the storylines all tie-in together.

If you don't like Miller's art but want something written by him here are a few suggestions:

- Born Again = It's the definitive Daredevil story and Mazzucchelli's art is breathtaking.

- Man Without = Drawn by John Romita Jr. it's one of my favorite origin stories.

- In Love And War = This is a very Kingpin heavy one and it's drawn by Bill Sienkiewicz.

The following are some stories by one-off or short lived DD writers which are amazing:

- Guardian Devil
- Redemption
- Noir
- Father

Are you...are you implying Frank Millers DD art is bad!?

Anyway, anything by Miller or Bendis.

After Bendis, follow up with Brubaker.

I'll read Miller for the story but I'm looking for something a little cleaner and more "HD" art wise. I understand that often flashy art and a top story do not go hand in hand, thus asking for some expert help instead of just flipping through some images. Now, I'm not typically big on the art being a priority over story, but with DD there's something really visceral and gorgeous about the solid red suit that I just want to indulge in some lavish visuals right now. Also the darker or more brutal DD gets... I don't mind.

If you need more incentive for Bendis's or Brubaker's run - here's some art:

Alex Maleev is definitely the best Daredevil artist.
