What don't you like about Jack?

It's Jack Nicholson playing Jack Nicholson, I don't see him as the Joker. That and knowing his origin, his hyper-sexual attitude and painting his face to look normal are all out of character to me.

If your Honest then Heath Ledger wasnt a that good joker either.
The thing with the joker is, he has no real pattern in his character.
That is why every actor, voice actor can play the Joker in his own way and form.

Personally i dont really like any of the live action joker that much, the animated series joker and the arkham joker are to me the good ones.

If i have to choose, then i would take Nicholson because he seems more unique.
Heath Ledgers joker is basicly just a lunatic that painted his face.

All live action Jokers suck. Troy Baker should play Joker in a movie since he can do the voice and he does kinda look like him.
Batman: DO YOU WANNA GET NUTS??!! COME ON!! let's get nuts.
Joker: Tell me something my friend. Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Batman: What?

Oh. In that case, I recommend re-watching the film.

Because they aren't recognizable as the Joker I know.

Jack Nicholson is himself. Heath Ledger is a sociopath with makeup. Mark Hamill and Troy Baker are the Joker.

I think we agree that the live action Jokers aren't the best interpretation of the comic Joker...but to say that they suck, is a bit much. Your Joker is only as recognizable as you make him. If you're thinking too specifically you're obviously going to be disappointed.

The Joker is a sociopath with permanent makeup.

I fail to see the issue here.

The Heath Ledger joker has the same problem every thing from Nolans Batman movies has.

If you take away his makeup and the suit, you have a plain maniac that is nothing "special".
While Nicholsons Joker isnt all that magical either, if you take away his makeup and the purple suit, you still have a unique character to some extent.

I am confused as to what you think is so "special" or "unique'" about any Joker without makeup.

Joker is a much deeper character than that. There was nothing unique about Heath Ledger.

I completely agree with this.

Gee, looks like we're having trouble with 'interpretations here.

Characters are meant to be re-interpreted. Just because a portrayal doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean they aren't playing the character. As long as they retain a number of characteristics key to their personality, then they are still the character in question - they just aren't the character you want them to be.

Its more the feeling i have when i look at the character.

Nicholsons joker without his trademark look, would still act, talk like the Joker from the comics i like.
he would still be silly, psychotic, terrifying etc.
I know that Heath Ledgers joker is a more "serious" and twisted version...its the nolan version, but to me with and without his look, he feels like a generic crazy guy.
The Joker is a character with many sides, Nolans Joker didnt showed that many, just the crazy side.

I said it a dozen times already i think, i like my batman universe with this overall comic feeling, that is what makes the games and the animated series so good for me...the characters feel like they belong in a comic.
Thats however just how i feel.

I was trying to point out your oversimplification via my own.

Top notch there, Harv'.

Did you read Harvey Harvey Harvey Bullock's response?

Nicholsons joker without his trademark look, would still act, talk like the Joker from the comics i like.
he would still be silly, psychotic, terrifying etc.

But if you were to remove the Nolanverse Joker from his trademark look... you'd get those three characteristics. (And yes, he can be silly. Look no farther than his deadpan expression when handing the mob his "card.")

I know that Heath Ledgers joker is a more "serious" and twisted version...its the nolan version, but to me with and without his look, he feels like a generic crazy guy.

He's not supposed to be a more "serious" or "twisted" version.

...he feels like a generic crazy guy.

Oh, no, you're not backing out of this with that card.

I'm not talking about your personal taste - and I prefer the B:TAS Joker to the Nolanverse Joker, but I like both - but your point about there being nothing "special" about the Nolanverse Joker, which I feel is ill-judged.
