[ANNOUNCEMENT] Treasure Chest Comics

I'm very pleased to announce the dawn of a new regular feature here in the comics section of arkhamcity.co.uk!

Starting at around 18:00 GMT on Sunday 27th November, Treasure Chest Comics takes a look at our favourite graphic novels and comic book arcs.

This is a brand new feature in which everyone gets the chance to talk about their favourite comic arc (it could be Batman: Knightfall, Superman: For Tomorrow, X-men: Age of Apocolypse, Watchmen or even Azrael #46-50) in the first post of a new topic. The first post should contain a synopsis, images and, of course, a review-style arguement for why it is that member's favourite. We hope that these retrospective looks will lead to some interesting discussions and introduce readers to stories that they are unfamiliar with.

The first edition will be written by Khris and he'll be looking at the modern classic first-arc of Grant Morrison's Batman & Robin run. Following him on the 4th of December, I will be looking at my favourite arc from the Robin ongoing series.

For the 11th December and following Sundays, we will need your help! You can submit your own articles to the Treasure Chest Comics subforum in the same way that you would submit a News story or send it direct to either Khris or myself in a PM. Remember to include the images that you want to use, give a synopsis of the plot and reasons that it is one of your favourite arcs.

We'll be scheduling based upon both quality content and the desire to present a diverse range of 'favourites'. In other words, we don't want twenty articles based upon The Long Halloween; we're looking for a mix of the more famous arcs and those that are more obscure. That said, if someone has written about Kingdom Come, there is no reason for us not to revisit it a couple of months down the line, as long as you have different insights.

We look forward to reading what your favourite comic book stories are, though I recommend waiting to see what we have in mind before submitting your articles.

If you have any questions about this feature, then please ask them here.

Personally, I can't wait to get started!

EDIT:
It'd be great if we could get some more articles up in reserve. I'm going to post my wishlist below, PM me if you want to do one.

-Batman: Long Halloween Luke
-Batman: RIP
-Superman: Birthright
-The Death of Superman
-Green Lantern: Rebirth TFDutchman
-any Wonder Woman
-Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven
-Gotham Central: Half a Life
-Identity Crisis
-Geoff Johns' Teen Titans
-Batman: Black Mirror

Treasure Chest Comics will be the banner (or title) under which this series of articles will be collected, all of which will be in the same sub-forum.

Each week I will update the OP on this announcement with links to the new article. that way we can easily keep track of who has written about what and in which week.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about your favourite comic arcs; have any of you thought of which story you'd like to write about yet?

Cool. So glad that you guys are on board with this. What I'd recommend, then, is that you think of the arc you want to write about and read it between now and Sunday. On Sunday you can read Khris' fantastic Treasure Chest Comics #1 and see what we've got in mind.

By all means though, bagsy your arc here!

This is a great idea. If I find any Batman Graphic Novels or arcs I like, I'll be sure to send an article on them to Khris.
