Rocksteady dishes on Community Challenge Pack

Basically six challenge maps from Asylum and City updated to the new style coming free in 2016. YAY!

I really think Rocksteady is trying to make people happy, despite what the community's saying. I'm really excited for all the stuff they're gonna be releasing in the next few months.

Here are the maps I'm hoping we'll get:
Combat:
- Scarecrow Nightmare
Perfect for this game and one of the best from Asylum.
- Crime Alley
A legendary location with fun, basic enemies to battle against.
- The Joker's Carnival
An undeniable masterpiece, with a unique playstyle and commentary by the Joker.

Predator:
- Silent Knight
The first Predator map I ever got to replay over and over. Means a lot to me.
- Wayne Manor Main Hall
A really well-made area with all the secrets and gizmos Wayne Manor should have.
- The Batcave
Not one of my favorites in map design, but c'mon, we need the Batcave.

What would you all like to see?

Before I say what I am about to, let it be known that I think that bringing back specific challenge maps from the previous games is a pretty stellar idea. However, of all things, they chose to include the Batcave? Lol, really Rocksteady? You tease us with the damn thing since the very beginning and all you can provide is a fucking challenge map (That, in all honesty, was pretty disappointing to begin with)? Ha, okay then.

Sounds awesome. Hope we get three combat maps and three predator maps and have the total split evenly among Asylum and City. This also gives me the impression that we won't be getting a remake of Asylum and City anytime soon.

I want the Iceberg Lounge endless challenge. I know there's one of those for Nightwing (well, now for everyone) but the wide space made it more enjoyable. Plus I want to see a graphics update.

For predator I want End of the Line or Natural Selection.

This is awesome news! Is it confirmed though, or just a rumour? The link won't work for me.

Those are the challenge maps I want. We have yet to know which ones Rocksteady will pick from the community.

I don't think people are reading OPs entire message...the maps OP listed are just a wishlist. Not the actual maps we're getting...

For real? Cool. I think I'll make a post there and suggest some of the ones I want then.

Made a long-ass post there. As usual. Lol.

Jeepers! having to decide only six maps is tough. For nostalgia's sake I would prefer challenge maps that are taken from the Asylum and City campaign's but some of the DLC challenge maps were better than the original base game ones. Anyways the maps I would first pick are:

Asylum
-Dem Bones (Combat, DLC)
-Silent Knight (Predator)
-Totally Insane (Combat, DLC)

City
-Funhouse Brawl (Combat)
-Natural Selection (Predator)
-The Batcave (Predator, DLC)

My second pickings would be Crime Alley, Intensive Treatment and Survival Tactics from Asylum whilst for City I would pick, Iceberg Lounge, Police Brutality and Survival of the Fittest.

For anyone who is curious here is the list of challenge maps from Asylum and City:
My memory is rusty so names are probably off.

Note: There is one or two predator maps missing as I don't remember their names and cannot find the info.

Combat:

Totally Insane

Predator:
Invisible Predator
Nocturnal Hunter
Record Breaker

Freight Train
Funhouse Brawl
Hell's Gate
Iceberg Lounge
The Joker's Carnival
Prison Riot
Rooftop Rumble
Survival of the Fittest
Wayne Manor Armory

Predator:

The six Community Challenge Maps that are coming in December are still up in the air with regards to their locations.

Rocksteady want to give us some legacy locations from Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. While these could be based on existing challenge maps, it doesn’t mean that we’ll just be getting an updated version of the map you suggest.

That being said, it would be helpful to think of the previous challenge maps that we have and haven’t had when making your suggestions.

For example, I’m going to suggest that the Dry Docks from Harley Quinn’s Revenge would be perfect, since we haven’t actually had that as a challenge map yet.

My own picks:

Predator
– The Dry Docks from HQR
– A Wayne Manor/Batcave secret passage mash up
– Something set in the creepy halls of Arkham Asylum, ideally with inmates screaming in their cells. Can you make a predator challenge that will scare us?

Combat
– Botanical Gardens
– Crime Alley
– Iceberg Lounge

Just noticed that the post above me contained a complete list of the challenge maps too... Sorry, Mr Weasel.
Spoiler: show
The challenge maps that we had in AA & AC:

- Funhouse Brawl
- Prison Riot
- Wayne Manor Armory
- Freight Train Escape
- Joker's Carnival
- Iceberg Lounge VIP Room

Predator:
- Meltdown Mayhem
- Police Brutality
- Natural Selection
- End of the Line

Only six? Oh so many good ones;

Arkham Asylum:

- Scarecrow's Nightmare - Combat
- A fantastic downloadable map that gave me chills and kept the tension with The Scarecrow laughing manically in the background and the skeleton enemies getting stronger by each round. Well worth the price at the time as I played the map countless times.

- Silent Knight - Predator
- I enjoyed playing this map as both Batman and the Joker, exploring the gothic setting of the medical wing (And finding a jar with a floating head in it - of all things!) and trying to hide from the armed Joker goons gave for great scares when playing the map late at night.

- Invisible Predator - Predator
- Hands down the best predator map in Arkham Asylum, as both Batman and the Joker. The environment was incredibly unique and gave the sense of entrapment, and I loved lurking behind some of the goons and pulling a wall down on top of them with the Ultra-Batclaw, it made for some hilarious moments when I played this map repetitively just to torment the goons.

Arkham City:

- The Batcave - Predator
- A very well detailed and iconic predator room, I loved taking down the Tyger goons in this map as it really brought the Arkham series back to the heart of the Batman mythos. My only request would be for more detail in the background, such as the inclusion of old Batman and Bat-family costumes, and for their to be more easter eggs that reference the rest of the Arkham franchise and beyond.

- Survival of the Fittest - Combat
- A tough challenge map to play through and a fantastically beautiful one too in the style of a traditional Gladiator Pit. Taking on the dozens of Penguin goons with the leader himself cackling in the background was very exile-rating and pushed me to my limits.

- Top of the World - Predator
- With Arkham City coming to an end, and Protocol 10 in effect, the stakes were raised for Batman to stop Hugo Strange once and for all, and never had I felt at the closest of Batman's breaking point more with this challenge map. Hanging on the edge of gargoyles on top of the Wonder Tower - and looking down Arkham City below from such a great height - kept me on the edge of my seat and it was a great challenge trying to pick the individual Tyger guards one by one due to how small the room was, and a great map to play over and over just for the experience and memories.
