Rules UPDATED for v3.0

Postby Luke » Aug 8th, 2010, 7:57 pm

By registering at Arkhamverse.com you hereby accept to adhere by the rules posted below:
Any content posted on this website is liable for immediate and unwarranted deletion. We at Arkhamverse.com reserve the right to remove you from our forums at any time, for any reason we deem legitimate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We do not accept or tolerate rudeness as an acceptable level of behaviour here. All members here are to be treated with respect and kindness. Any member caught being disruptive towards another member will recieve a warning. If the issue persists the user will be banned.

AGE RESTRICTION
Starting October 2013, all users must be no younger than 13 years of age.
-The Arkham games are rated 15/T, so really we should make it 15, but we're aware that there are slightly younger players out there.
-All competitions featuring age-restricted content, such as DVDs or videogames, will be restricted by the age-rating of said products.

ADVERTISING / ADVERTISEMENTS
- NO ADVERTISING of Company, Business or Marketing is allowed anywhere on our forums EXCEPT in your personal signature.
- Advertisements are not allowed without at least 50 posts or more on our forums. You may then include one link in your signature.
- No advertising in inapplicable forums or personal messages.
- Do not post referral URLs anywhere. We aren't a forum here to help you make sales.
- No posting (includes signatures) links to sites with a referral code.
- Do not advertise via PM'ing users of the forums.
- Anyone found advertising referral links, websites in posts, websites in topics or their website through PM's will be banned instantly.
- Anyone with a post count below 50 that links users to their website in their signature will be warned via PM. and your signature will be edited to a correct state. If the user persists in re placing the link the user will be banned.

AVATARS
- Avatars may be no bigger than 150kb
- Avatars may not excede 50x120
- No animated .gif avatars.

SIGNATURES
- Maximum links in a signature: 1
- Maximum image height within a signature: 110px
- Please no animated .gif signatures
- No images that would break the rules if included in a post. Same goes for text. (bad language, obscene images etc.)

SPAM
- Posting/Replying to topics with useless information, repetitive statements, and one word replies. This also can be making excessive useless topics/threads that have no relevance and don't contribute at all to the community. We don't want SPAM here, and I am sure you wouldn't like it either. Don't do it.
- Users will be warned via PM if they are posting spam and driving topics off topic.

ADULT CONTENT
- No sexual content of any nature should be posted.

WAREZ / PIRACY CONTENT
- No discussing, linking, or suggesting anywhere, anytime.
- No sharing or posting links or files pertaining to piracy of any kind.
- Any discusion of ilegal downloading will be removed.
- Users who persist in posting ilegal links on the forum after being warned will be banned.

PROFANITY / CUSSING / BAD WORDS
- You have the luxury of being allowed to use the words you choose. DO NOT ABUSE THAT PRIVILAGE. I.e. Do not use excessive profanity, or not using it at all is fine as well. We only tolerate some words here.
- Attempting to evade the bad word filter will result in a ban.

BOARD RELATED RULES
- No abbreviated words when posting. Things such as "c u l8tr" should not be used.
- Please no .gif signatures, they slow down the site for mobile users.
- No spamming the boards, custom request pages, or personal messages for any reason.
- Do not put URLs in the topic title.
- Do not link to sites that may cause harm to another users computer.
- Do not flame or post flamebait (topics or posts that invoke flames).
- Do not reply to or bait trolling behaviour. Report trolls and admins will deal with them.
- Do not engage in mini-modding behaviour such as replying with 'Request topic lock', 'This should be moved' or generally bossing other users around. If you feel that somthing is amiss, then report it to the admins or moderators.
- Do not double post in the same thread (if there is a hiccup that makes you do it on accident, edit the last post for deletion).
- No substance-less (i.e. one-word) posts. This again is considered SPAM.
- No negative or disparaging remarks against another members culture, religion, or lifestyle.
- No sharing or posting pornographic images, videos, or links (including in member signatures) on our main boards.
-No 'cute' misspellings. e.g. internetz, moar,
-No Internet meme or animated gif images as replies. You have smilies and the full range of the English language to express yourselves. We are a fan and discussion site, not Tumblr.
-No keyboard mashing. Again, you have the full range of the English language to express yourself. Please choose an appropriate adjective over button bashing.
-Anyone found participating in an external group that links itself with the site (ACUK Chat Page, for example) will be banned. We pay for competitions and monthly fees to run this site, so I don't think it's too much to ask that you keep discussion to the site.

Due to the nature of our competitions being post related please refrain from posting spam. Any posts that only serve to increase your post count will be deleted. Users that persist in heavy spam could be removed from all competitions

Please keep in mind, it is your responsibility to keep up to date with the rule changes. We will post the changes in a "reply" to this topic, please be sure to keep updated by checking back when you see a new post has been made in the "Rules" section of the forum.

SANCTION STRUCTURE
Please note that this is the general sanction structure and steps may be missed out depending upon severity of the offense. It remains admins prerogative to ban at any point, if the user has shown disregard for the site rules and other members.

Standard sanction tiers:
1- Informal warning via topic/PM
2- formal warning
3- three warnings = at least a month ban
4- upon return, a further three warnings = six month or permanent ban

Hey Andgrossganon. The ranking system is completely dependant on the amount of posts you have. I believe the next time you rank up is when you hit 5 posts. Then 15. Then 25 and so on. Other than upgrading your status to a more important character (The Joker is included) the system at the moment doesn't provide anything for the user. This will change as the forum progresses and receives more members. Once people start hitting higher ranks, prizes and more forum capabilities may be given out.
Hope you enjoying the forum and thank you for your contribution so far.
Luke.

If someone gets banned from the forums can that person be able to come back to the forums if the thing that baned them was just a silly mistake?

Re: Rules [UPDATE 19.08.10]

No abbreviated words when posting. Things such as "c u l8tr" should not be used.

We can't use them at all?

I can understand using nothing but these and talking like this "" U B DUM"" or something, but can we just use it sometimes like instead of you we just use u.

No especially not like that. You = U See = C. Is not aloud. Overall "Txt speak" should not be used. OT = Off Topic IIR = If I recall. These are both fine.

Alright, I personally don't use them myself, but I know alot of people do. So this is going to be a good thing because everyone would understand each other.

Yes. There were far to many posts that I genuinely had trouble reading and I know other members did as well. I'm sure it wont be an issue.

It shouldn't be an instant ban, if someone does type like that just give them a little message telling them to stop.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but a few posters' comments are frequently unreadable. I feel like people who just spout nonsense shouldn't really be allowed to do so. If English isn't someone's primary language then that's understandable, but I'm pretty sure some of the posters I'm describing are just being lazy.
