Additional Information
Leslie Thompkins was a close friend of Thomas and Martha Wayne and was the first on the scene to help after their murders in Crime Alley. Whilst legal guardianship passed to Alfred, she took it upon herself to help him to look after the Waynes' orphaned son, Bruce. A determined pacifist, Leslie felt as though she was failing Bruce as he took to boxing and jujitsu early in his second decade. When Bruce left Gotham at fourteen, Leslie and Alfred turned to each other in their grief and enjoyed a brief relationship.
One of a handful of civilians who know the Batman's true identity, Leslie vehemently protests Bruce's methods in his war on crime and feels responsible for his descent into violence.
Leslie ran a clinic for homeless and vulnerable people including criminals and drug addicts in Gotham City until it was walled off and later submerged in Arkham City. During the events of No Man's Land, she ran the town's only medical clinic in the MASH sector, operating under a strict 'No Weapons. No Violence' policy that applied to everyone who wanted medical care and aid; a rule that even murderers like Killer Croc respected and obeyed. She has been an inspiration to both civilians and heroes alike, including both the Batman and Catwoman.
Possible role in Arkham 3
Leslie would no doubt be one of the first to return to aid in the redevelopment and relief efforts of the abandoned section of Gotham formally known as Arkham City. With the walls torn down and temporary bridges allowing foot access to the derelict district and many buildings remaining untouched as they wait in a queue for building crews to get to them, the area has an influx of homeless and low-rent criminals looking for out-of-sight places to live. Leslie Thompkins converts the Solomon Wayne courthouse into her new free clinic, providing aid and medical care for the old, homeless and infirm, as well as an anonymous patch up service for Gotham's vigilantes.
